FAQ about RCI Points:
How is my Use Year determined?Refer to your ownership documents to determine when your Use Year begins.
What happens if I borrow Points then cancel my reservation?The borrowed Points will be returned to the Use Year from which they were borrowed.
How did RCI come up with the Point values of the resorts?The Point values are based upon several variables including location of resort, resort quality, resort amenities, unit configuration and time of year.
How far in advance can I reserve my fixed week?The farthest in advance that you can reserve your fixed week is 13 months (396 days). The Home Week Priority Period extends from 13 to 12 months (396 to 366 days) in advance of the check-in date.
How early can I plan holidays to resorts other than my own?If the resort you want to visit is part of your home group, you can plan your holiday as early as 11 months (334 days) prior to the day you want to check-in. All other resorts may be reserved in the Standard Reservation Period which runs from 10 months (303 days) to 2 days in advance of the check-in day.
What if I want to send a friend or family to use my reservation?Your reservation can be given to anyone you wish. You can purchase a Guest Certificate which allows your friends and/or family to take advantage of the reservation. Guests must be at least 18 years old. Some resorts, however, may have higher age requirements.
When can I borrow Points?You can borrow your Points from the next Use Year at any time.
How do I let you know that I want to save Points?Points will automatically be saved at the end of the Use Year. You may also call your RCI Travel Consultant to save your Points to the next Use Year.
What happens to the Points once they are saved?Once Points are saved, they will expire at the end of the Use Year into which they were saved. Points that have been saved, may be borrowed back, but cannot be saved into a theird Use Year.
What happens if I am unable to use my saved Points, will they expire?Yes, however, when you make your Points reservations, the Points you have saved will be used up first. This means that your most recent Points allocations will only be used after your saved Points have been utilised. Remaining Points can also be put towards Points Partner reservations such as flights and car hire etc.
How can I obtain more Points?If you want more Points permanently, you can call your home resort or any licensed Points vendor. Otherwise, you may borrow Points from your next Use Year.
What if I don't have enough Points to make the reservation that I want?If you don't have enough Points to make the reservation you want, you can borrow Points from your next Use Year to complete the reservation.
What happens if I don't use my Points before the end of my Use Year?If you do not use your Points before the end of their Use Year, the Points will automatically be saved to the next Use Year. Points that have been saved from one Use Year to the next may not be saved into a theird Use Year.
Do I still have to pay resort management fees on the week that has been ceded into Points?Yes. The home resort will issue an invoice for the management fees and collect them in the normal way.
Do I have to pay management fees if I own Pure Points?Yes. Management fees are paid on a per Point basis directly to RCI Points.
How do I reserve inventory from an RCI Points Partner?Once you have selected your RCI Points Partner option on which you wish to utilise your Points, call your RCI Travel Consultant.
How far in advance can I book with an RCI Points Partner?RCI Points Partners can be reserved as far in advance as the rules associated with that partner will allow. Call your RCI Travel Consultant for details.
Can I pay for Points Partner services in Points and cash?Yes. You can pay in part Points, part cash to ensure the maximum flexibility with how you choose to spend your Points.
If I am already a member of RCI and become an RCI Points member, what happens to the subscriptions I have already paid to RCI?Any pre-paid RCI Weeks membership subscriptions that have not been used, will be pro-rated and credited to your RCI Points account, unless RCI are advised otherwise.
How do I exchange with RCI if I am an RCI Points member?As a member of RCI Points, you are automatically a member of RCI Weeks. If you want to travel to an RCI-affiliated resort that does not participate in RCI Points, you may request an RCI Exchange to the property. The Points Exchange Grid in your directory shows you the number of Points you will need to book a particular season and size of unit. When you are ready to make the reservation, simply call your RCI Travel Consultant to check the availability.
What happens when I cancel a confirmed RCI Exchange that was made with RCI Points?The cancellation policy will apply i.e. cancel in 90+ days, you will receive a full refund, cancel 89 days or less, you will receive a refund in Limited Use Points (points used for accommodation reservations within 90 days of the check-in date.
Can I bequeath my Points to relatives or friends?Absolutely. Points can be bequeathed to anyone providing the following procedures are followed. Call your RCI Travel Consultant for more details.
